Philip R. Johnson, MD, serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Interius Biotherapeutics since 2021 and has been a Biotechnology Consultant at Caicos Partners since 2016. Johnson held various significant roles including Venture Partner at Apple Tree Partners (2019-2020), President & Chief Scientific Officer at Limelight Bio (2016-2020), and Medical Advisor at CompuVax (2016-2019). Johnson was also a Senior Advisor at the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) (2016-2017) and spent a decade at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as Executive Vice President & Chief Scientific Officer while serving as a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania during the same time. Earlier career milestones include serving as President of the Children's Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital (1996-2004) and as a Professor at The Ohio State University (1991-2004). Johnson's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine degree and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, along with a Staff Fellow designation from the National Institutes of Health in the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases.
