Jason Brookins

Jason Brookins most recently served as the Chief Information Officer for the Clayton County Board of Commissioners, where he strategically led the county’s enterprise technology initiatives and serving in that role since 2016. Prior to this, Jason has been working for the Clayton County Government in various roles of increasing responsibility within the IT department since 1996. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He holds an Executive Certificate in Public Administration from Liberty University, a Master of Public Administration from Purdue University Global and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Technology Management from Clayton State University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration from Liberty University. In addition, he holds a Certified Government Chief Information Officers (CGCIO) and Local Government Chief Information Officer (LGCIO) and Certified Public Manager (CPM) certifications from the University of Georgia.

Jason has completed several major technical projects and initiatives during his career with Clayton County, a few of which is the creation of the GIS Steering Committee, the creation and launch of the county’s Office of Digital Equity and Inclusion, expansion of the county’s fiber optic data network that extends to over 95% of the county’s building and covers an estimated 85 miles. Additionally, he planned and led the installation of the county’s enterprise IP telephony and unified communications platform. Also, he planned and led the release of the county’s first constituent services and issue reporting mobile application, Click Clayton.
