Kelly Maicon

Account Supervisor at Interdependence Public Relations

Kelly Maicon brings more than two decades of public relations experience to her Account Supervisor role. She started her career at Ketchum in New York City where she worked with many well-known brands such as Evian, Norelco, Philips Lighting, Reebok and Visa.

Kelly has helped a variety of companies across multiple industries tell their unique brand stories and stay ahead of industry trends. Some of the industries include consumer products and services, furniture and design, food & beverage, restaurants, residential and commercial real estate as well as clinical research.

Prior to joining Interdependence PR, Kelly served as an Account Supervisor for a PR firm located in the Research Triangle Park (RTP) area of North Carolina. During her time at the agency, she managed a team of publicists and social media specialists for multiple client accounts, securing coverage in a number of local, regional, and national media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, CNBC and Fast Company to name a few.

Kelly spent a number of years representing both residential and commercial real estate companies where she developed and executed PR campaigns to drive tenant occupancy and garner exposure for multiple master-planned communities across North Carolina. One highly successful campaign she created and executed was an interior design competition with Meredith College students to design vacant retail and commercial spaces, securing broadcast and print coverage of the winner announcement ceremony.

While serving as PR Manager for Ethan Allen, Kelly managed all aspects of PR for the corporate brand as well as many of the company’s more than 300 retail stores. During her tenure, she created a turn-key celebrity driven design campaign, called “Chairs that Care”, to launch the company’s children’s product line. Several celebrities including John Travolta, Susan Sarandon, Michael J. Fox and Kate Spade designed a small, kid-sized upholstered chair to help raise money for a Manhattan-based charity. “Chairs that Care” garnered national publicity on NBC NEWS’ Today Show, Weekend Today, Fox News and was featured in Martha Stewart Living, raising $45,000 over two years.
