Sam Stiers has a strong background in digital media and content strategy. Sam began their career in 2001 as a Midwest Online Editor for Morris Communications, where they oversaw multiple newspaper websites. From 2002 to 2006, they worked for Tribune Company as a Producer and WPIX Producer, managing content, business, and marketing for cw11.com and coordinating web development and production for television websites.
In 2006, Stiers joined CBS Television Stations Digital Media Group as a National Producer, Community, where they played a key role in launching the company's in-house CMS and developing strategies to generate new products, content, and revenue. Sam then became a Senior Producer, Projects, responsible for managing various projects that grew revenue and expanded audience.
From 2009 to 2010, Stiers worked as a Senior Product Manager for CBS Local, leading the product team in brainstorming, conceptualizing, and developing new and existing products.
In 2010, Stiers joined Digital Radio One as the Director of Content, where they developed strategies to drive traffic and mentored a local online editing team. Sam then transitioned to Interactive One as Vice President of Content and User Engagement, overseeing a team of editors managing radio and syndicated websites in multiple markets and implementing strategies that tripled reach in less than three years.
Stiers continued to progress within Interactive One, serving as the Vice President of Content Strategy and Operations from 2014 to 2018, managing programming operations for over 70 sites and directing the digital strategy. Sam then became the SVP of Strategy & Operations - R1 Digital, leading the R1 Digital business unit and making significant improvements in sales, traffic growth, and cost reduction. Currently, Stiers holds the position of GM/EVP Digital at Interactive One, where they play a pivotal role in the company's digital operations.
