Barbara Cedillo is a seasoned professional in citizen security and justice, currently serving as a consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank since September 2017. Responsibilities include providing technical and operational inputs for loan operations in security and justice sectors, as well as coordinating knowledge product design related to violence prevention and institution modernization. Previous experience includes consulting roles at the Organización de los Estados Americanos, where Barbara created a database on homicide prevention strategies, and The World Bank, where operational support and quality control for lending projects were key responsibilities. Early career experiences include serving as a graduate assistant at Georgetown University, drafting grant proposals and research papers, and assisting in the Technical Secretariat of the National Security Council in Mexico. Barbara holds a Master’s degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
