Roy H. Chestnutt is currently on the Board of Directors at Telstra and Digital Turbine. He is on the Accenture Luminaries Board of Advisors, and is a Senior Advisor at VMware, Tillman Global Holdings, and FTI/Delta Partners. For three years, he worked as a Senior Advisor at Blackstone and now works in an advocacy role. He also served on the Saudi Telecom Board of Directors for three years. Previously, Mr. Chestnutt was the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Verizon and was responsible for the development and implementation of Verizon’s overall corporate strategy, including business development, joint ventures, strategic investments, and acquisitions and divestitures. He served on the Board of Directors of the GSMA and was Chairman of the Chief Strategy Officers Group of the GSMA comprised of 25 global strategists from the world’s leading carriers. He also served as a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC Board of Trustees. Before working at Verizon, Mr. Chestnutt had a number of roles in the telecommunications space including working as Corporate Vice President of the Americas at Motorola Networks, serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Grande Communications, and Senior Vice President of National Field Sales and General Business for Sprint-Nextel. Mr. Chestnutt also held positions at Nextel Communications, PrimeCo Personal Communications, and AirTouch Cellular. Mr. Chestnutt earned an MBA from the University of San Francisco, with an emphasis in General Management and International Business, and a BSBA from San Jose State University.
