Sara is a Hazard and Risk Management Scientist within the Social and Behavioural Science Team. Her particular research interests are in designing and implementing people-centered early warning systems; partnerships and collaboration for disaster risk reduction; and social media, crowdsourcing, citizen science, volunteered geographic information for disaster risk reduction. Through her work, Sara hopes to improve the design and implementation of, and response to, people-centered early warning systems by finding better ways to increase the accessibility of key data sets and the adoption of new technologies and resulting data to support the decision-making behind these systems.
