Sam Taylor-Offord is a skilled geophysicist with extensive experience in science operations and research. Currently serving as a Science Operations Specialist at GNS Science since July 2017, Sam focuses on optimizing the GeoNet scientific sensor network and addressing the needs of the scientific user community. Previous roles include acting as an Earthquake and Tsunami Duty Officer, providing critical scientific advice during significant events, and working as a Geodetic Processing Coordinator, where Sam applied expertise in data handling and automatic processing systems. Earlier experience at Victoria University of Wellington involved teaching and assisting in several geology and geophysics courses, as well as participating in significant research initiatives in Antarctica and other projects related to seismic monitoring and nuclear magnetic resonance studies. Sam holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from Victoria University of Wellington.
