Sarah Austin is currently an MA Gender and Development student at the Institute of Development Studies as of September 2024. Previously, Sarah worked as a research assistant at Pew Research Center for two years, contributing to various studies. Sarah's extensive research experience includes mentoring work at Brigham Young University, where notable projects involved co-designing a pilot study on list experimentation and coding tweets for a project on the #MeToo movement. Additional experience includes internships at the Survey Center on American Life and Village Capital, as well as research internships with UNHCR, focusing on protection mainstreaming processes and conflict analysis in Myanmar. Sarah holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Affairs from Brigham Young University and an International Baccalaureate Diploma from the American International School of Mozambique.
