Mary Gunther has an extensive work experience spanning over 39 years. Mary started their career in the United States Navy in 1981, serving as an Administrative Officer and later as a Protocol Officer. In these roles, they were responsible for logistics, administrative support, and scheduling for visiting dignitaries and flag officers. Since 2008, Mary has been working at the Institute for Cultural Communicators. Mary has held several positions, including Chief Operating Officer, Director of Planning and Programming, and Chief Influence Officer. Additionally, they served as the National Area Director for ICC Chapters from 2010 to 2011.

Mary Gunther's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Political Science and Government from the United States Naval Academy, obtained from 1977 to 1981. Mary also holds a Certificate in Art Integration in Curriculum from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, completed from 2011 to 2013.
