Maëlys S. is a PhD candidate at the Institut du Cerveau – Paris Brain Institute, focusing on machine learning research with neuroimaging data to aid in the diagnosis of dementia. Previous academic contributions include a master's thesis at the University of Oxford, where machine learning methods were applied to study the causal effects of aerosols on clouds, and a bachelor's thesis at Inria, investigating deep convolutional networks for sleep stage classification. Additional internships involved research on convolutional neural networks for EEG micro-event detection and generic group order computation algorithms in cryptography. Maëlys holds an MSc in Advanced Computer Science from the University of Oxford, a Master 2 in Cognitive Science from École normale supérieure, and a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from École Polytechnique. Education has been further supported by a background in scientific studies at Ecole Jeannine Manuel.
