Deniz Engin is a PhD student at Inria since September 2020, focusing on parameter-efficient zero-shot and few-shot VideoQA and developing knowledge-based VideoQA methods. Prior to this, Deniz worked as a researcher at InterDigital, Inc., where contributions included multimodal video understanding projects resulting in two patent applications. As an R&D Engineer Specialist at Yapı Kredi Teknoloji, Deniz developed systems for offline signature detection and multimodal document classification. Early research experience includes positions at Istanbul Technical University, involving single image dehazing and facial expression recognition, as well as a research internship at EPFL, concentrating on cross-pose facial expression recognition. Deniz holds a PhD in Computer Science from Université de Rennes I and multiple degrees in Electronics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, including exchange studies at KU Leuven.
