Alain Girault is a prominent researcher in the field of algorithmics, programming, software, and architecture, currently serving as the Deputy Scientific Director at INRIA since May 2011. In this role, Alain leads the SPADES team at INRIA Grenoble Rhône-Alpes, focusing on formal methods for embedded computing systems, including energy minimization and dependability for both software systems and digital circuits. Prior experience includes serving as Head of Science at the Grenoble Rhône-Alpes research center, team leader of the POP ART team, and holding postdoctoral positions at UC Berkeley and Ecole des Mines de Paris. Alain has contributed to numerous projects involving fault-tolerance, reliability, and multi-criteria optimization among others, and holds advanced degrees in computer science from Grenoble INP - UGA.
