Dr. Chen Kaixian (“Dr. Chen”), an independent non-executive director of the Company, is responsible for providing independent opinions and judgments to the Board. Dr. Chen obtained a bachelor's degree in radiochemistry from Fudan University in August 1968, and a master's degree in science and a doctorate degree in science from Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences in February 1982 and February 1985, respectively.

Dr. Chen has been a professor at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences since 1990, director of the institute from 1996 to 2004, and director of the degree committee of the institute since 2014. Dr. Chen has also been a professor at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine since 2005, the president from 2005 to 2014, and the chairman of the academic committee from 2014 to 2018.

Dr. Chen has served as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 1999; served as the vice president of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association from 2007 to 2017, and served as the director of the Medicinal Chemistry Professional Committee of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association since 2007; "Member of the General Expert Group, and served as the deputy chief engineer of science and technology since 2016; served as the chairman of the Shanghai Science and Technology Association from 2011 to 2018; served as the editor-in-chief of "Pharmaceutical Progress" and "China New Drugs and Clinical" since 2015; Since 2017, he has served as the executive member and deputy director of the National Pharmacopoeia Commission.

Dr. Chen also currently serves as a director of Zai Lab Limited (a company listed on NASDAQ, stock code: ZLAB), and served as a director of Shanghai Fudan Zhangjiang Biomedical Co., Ltd. (listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange) from 2014 to 2015. Company, stock code: 1349) is an independent non-executive director.
