Sean S. has over fifteen years of work experience in the software development industry. Sean began their career in 2001 as an Assistant IT Specialist for the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium. In 2004, they worked as a Web Developer for Literati. From 2005 to 2010, they served as a Senior Software Developer and Team Leader for Citynet, where they managed seven developers and developed internal customer facing business applications. In 2010, they worked as a Software Consultant for Yuk Yuk's, where they successfully developed a public reservation system and increased customer acquisition and ticket sales. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Technical Co-Founder and CEO of Inktd by NoShow, Inc. and a Senior Software Engineer for Qlinary Inc. During this time, they identified issues with the existing underperforming product design and created effective corrective action plans. In 2014, they were a Senior Software Engineer for Philips, where they significantly improved the code quality and overall performance of their flagship medSage product. From 2016 to present, they have been a Senior Software Development Engineer for Smartsheet.

Sean S. obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from West Virginia University between 1997 and 2002. Sean then obtained a certification in Architecting on AWS from Amazon Web Services in November 2018. In 2015, they obtained two certifications from Coursera Verified Certificates: The Data Scientist's Toolbox and Developing Innovative Ideas for New Companies: The First Step in Entrepreneurship. Sean also has an Advanced Cold Fusion MX 7 Developer certification, though the institution is unknown.
