Johanneke Weitjens is currently the Global Head of International and Regulatory Affairs at ING, a role held since January 2016, overseeing Supervisory Engagement, Regulatory Affairs, and Public Affairs. With experience since 2001 in the Public and Government Affairs department, Johanneke progressed from Manager of Public and Government Affairs to Head of Regulatory Affairs following a departmental shift. Previous roles include Advisor for Financial Markets at the Netherlands' Bankers Association and Policy Advisor for Dutch MEPs in the European Parliament. Johanneke began their career as an intern at VNO-NCW and holds a Master's degree in International Relations from the University of Groningen, as well as pursuing a Corporate Governance Certificate at INSEAD.
