Shivakumar A R has extensive experience in research and technology promotion, currently serving as a Researcher and Technology Promoter at the Indian Institute of Science since January 2004. With a career that began at KSCST in November 1981 as a Scientist, Shivakumar A R has notably contributed to the development of village industry equipment and the implementation of environment and renewable energy programs in Karnataka. Renowned for promoting Solar Water Heaters during the early days of solar energy initiatives from 1984 to 1994, Shivakumar A R holds a Post Graduate degree in Business Management from Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Mysore University.
