April Blackburn has a diverse work experience spanning from 2002 to the present. April began their career as an Instructor at McDaniel College, where they taught university students and designed course content. April then worked as a Proofreader/Editor at Deposition Services, where they ensured the accuracy of legal transcripts and determined document priority. At Verizon, they served as a Compliance Specialist, developing and maintaining national cost models and auditing customer service reps for compliance with federal regulations. April joined Maricom, a CSC Company, in 2009 and held various roles, including Quality Assurance Analyst, Sr. Technical Writer, and Documentation and Compliance Lead. In these roles, they ensured project adherence to standards, developed SDLC documentation, and led compliance initiatives. Since 2013, April has worked as an Independent Consultant and Proposal Manager at Index Analytics LLC.
April Blackburn earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Religion/Religious Studies from Dickinson College, where they studied from 1989 to 1993. April then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in the same field at Arizona State University from 1993 to 1995. After completing their master's degree, April Blackburn attended Temple University from 1996 to 2001, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Religion/Religious Studies.
