Ram Samudrala is a Professor and Division Chief at the University at Buffalo since October 2014, specializing in computational biology, genomics, and proteomics, with a focus on understanding and simulating the processes governing the structure, function, and evolution of biological molecules. Prior to this role, Ram served as an Assistant and Associate Professor at the University of Washington from January 2001 to October 2014. Ram obtained a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Biology from Stanford University (August 1997 - December 2000), a PhD in Computational Biology from the University of Maryland (May 1993 - August 1997), and a Bachelor's degree in Computing Science and Genetics from Ohio Wesleyan University (January 1990 - May 1993).
