Meritxell Rius has over 30 years of professional experience. Meritxell began their career in 1989 as an Administrator in Estadísticas at the Camara de Comercio de Barcelona. In 1992, they moved on to become a Product Manager for Juguetes Borras at EDUCA BORRAS. In 1997, they joined Nestlé Nespresso SA, where they held the roles of Responsable Atención Clientes and Responsable Club Nespresso. In 2010, they moved to DABA (Nespresso exclusive distributor) as Dirección de las Operaciones. In 2013, they returned to Nestlé Nespresso SA as Dirección Expansión Internacional. In 2019, they took a role as Responsable Comercial Desarrollo de Negocio at Grupo Unísono. Most recently, in 2021, they became the Head of CS & RETAIL at Incapto Coffee.

Meritxell Rius began their educational journey in 1988 when they attended the Management School to pursue a Licenciatura en Direccion Empresas. Meritxell then attended ISM-IAE from 1992 to 1994 to study Estrategias de Publicidad y Marketing. In 2008, they attended Scotwork Negotiating Skills to obtain Negotiation Skills. In 2009, they attended Esade to pursue a PCDD in Dirección Empresas. Lastly, in 2016, they attended IESE Business School to obtain Finanzas para no Financieros.
