Craig Markovitz

Craig Markovitz, PhD, has extensive work experience in scientific communications, medical research, and medical device development.

From 2019 to the present, they have been working at Inari Medical, initially as a Scientific Communications Manager and later progressing to Senior Manager, Director, and currently serving as Sr. Director, Scientific Communications. In this role, Craig oversees the company's podium and publication strategy, manages a team of 13 professionals, and keeps up-to-date with relevant literature and the competitive landscape.

Prior to their time at Inari Medical, Craig worked at Abbott from 2014 to 2019 as a Senior Staff Scientist. Craig led early feasibility clinical studies in the fields of Cardiac Rhythm Management, Cardiac Electrophysiology, and Heart Failure. Craig collaborated with renowned physicians and Abbott scientists worldwide, contributing to project development, regulatory approvals, publication, and product development.

Craig's experience also includes their time at the University of Minnesota, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher, designing a clinical trial for the treatment of intractable tinnitus. Craig also completed their PhD in biomedical engineering at the university, focusing on invasive and noninvasive brain stimulation strategies for tinnitus treatment.

Additionally, Craig served as a MedTech Commercialization Consultant at The Medical Alley Association, where they evaluated early-stage medical device technologies and wrote due diligence reports for clients. Craig also gained experience in research and development during their time at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Craig Markovitz, PhD received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Craig then pursued further education and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota from 2009 to 2014.
