Denisha Gounden is a Senior Chemist in the Technical Division at Impala Platinum since February 2022, with prior experience as a Research Fellow in the Hydrometallurgy Division at Mintek from June 2021 to January 2022. Denisha has over six years of experience in research and development within the field of Chemistry, specializing in Materials, Nanotechnology, and Synthesis, and has led various projects in water treatment and sensor development, resulting in six publications and numerous awards. Denisha's educational background includes a PhD in Materials Chemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, along with a second PhD in Chemistry from the University of Konstanz, and multiple degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Additionally, Denisha has served as a Teaching Assistant, Tutor, and Supplemental Instruction Leader, contributing to peer education and mentorship.
