Katie Siler has extensive experience in immigration law, currently serving as the Directing Attorney and Managing Attorney at Immigrant Defenders Law Center since November 2019, where oversight involves supervising attorneys who represent non-citizens deemed mentally incompetent in immigration matters. Prior roles include serving as an attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Executive Office of Immigration Review, providing legal counsel to immigration judges and drafting decisions on complex immigration issues. Katie began with legal experience as a law clerk for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, further enriching expertise through internships and externships, including positions at the U.S. Department of Justice and the Los Angeles Superior Court. Educational achievements include a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Los Angeles, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from San Diego State University, as well as additional studies at Universidad Nebrija and the University of Oxford.
