Matthew Jones is an experienced mining professional with a robust background in mining engineering and operations management. Currently serving as Group Mining Director at Imerys since March 2012, Matthew provides corporate mining engineering support across 100 global sites and oversees key areas such as mine planning, development, and cost reduction. Previously, as Senior Mining & Operations Manager for Filtration Division at Imerys, Matthew managed mineral extraction for European operations. Earlier career roles include Quarry Operations Manager at Lafarge Cement UK and Lafarge Canada, Geological Engineer at Lafarge, and Exploration Geologist at Blue Circle Cement. Matthew holds a Master's degree in Mining Geology from Camborne School of Mines and a Bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of Birmingham.
