June Pais is a highly experienced scientist with a strong background in biological chemistry and epigenomic studies. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Scientist at Illumina since January 2021, June has held various titles including Senior Scientist and Staff Scientist. Prior experience includes roles at Synthetic Genomics and New England Biolabs, where significant research focused on the development of novel 5-methylcytosine oxygenases and mechanisms related to mitochondrial protein import. Academic contributions include a NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and teaching roles, demonstrating a commitment to both research and education. June earned a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Oklahoma.
