Douglas DeCandia has extensive experience in product security and systems engineering, currently serving as Senior Manager and Product Security Lead at Illumina since August 2012. Douglas has developed IT support programs for over 20,000 commercial systems, managed OS upgrades and quality reporting across numerous software products, and overseen IT testing workflows. Previous roles include Systems Support Engineer/Scientist and Clinical Systems Engineer, where responsibilities included lifecycle management, system design improvements, and high-throughput system maintenance. Douglas's background includes freelance design work, research positions at notable institutions such as NYU and Mt Sinai, and military service in the US Navy and Air Force. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Binghamton University and an Associate of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the Community College of the Air Force.
