Hettie Lynne Hurtes is an accomplished news writer and anchor currently employed by iHeartMedia as a News Writer/Anchor at KRLA Los Angeles since January 2021. With extensive experience in journalism, Hurtes has contributed as a journalist for NPR since May 2008 and has held various roles, including news anchor and host, at American Public Media and Southern California Public Radio since 2005. Additionally, Hurtes has served as a midday host and news anchor for 89.3 KPCC-FM and SCPR from 2006 onwards. Previously, Hurtes worked as an anchor for CBS TV Network from 1998 to 2006. Educationally, Hurtes holds a B.S. in Theatre from Northwestern University and has also studied at UCLA and Packer Collegiate Institute.
