Osama Abdelgawad has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles within the architecture and design industry. Starting from 1997, they worked as an Architect/Interior Designer for Bechtel Corporation, where they developed detailed designs and set project schedules. Osama then moved on to work as an Architect at Legat Architects from 1999 to 2001, where they collaborated closely with clients to ensure their design needs were met. After that, they joined Zuhair Fayez Partnership Consultants as a Design Manager, overseeing the entire design process and managing client relationships. From 2010 to 2013, they worked as a Regional Project Manager at M. H. Alshaya Co., where they managed projects from conception to completion and fostered key relationships. Osama then joined Projacs International as a Senior Design Manager, responsible for providing technical services and coordination with external professionals. In 2015, they started working for the U.S. Green Building Council, serving as a USGBC Facultyâ„¢ (LEED Instructor) and offering educational seminars and trainings on green building practices. Osama also worked as a Pro Reviewer for USGBC Education. In 2016, they became Chief Architect at IHCC, where they directed and managed a team of designers and set visual design standards for multiple projects. Finally, in 2020, they took on the roles of EDGE Auditor and EDGE EXPERT at EDGE Buildings.
Osama Abdelgawad obtained a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Helwan University Cairo in the years 1991 to 1996. Osama then pursued a Master of Science in Management, specializing in Sustainability Design, at Colorado State University from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, they have acquired various certifications such as EDGE Auditor and EDGE EXPERT from EDGE Buildings in 2020, Six Sigma White Belt certification from the International Association for Six Sigma Certification in 2016, LEED Accredited Professional Certificate LEED AP ID+C from Green Business Certification, Inc. in 2011, and project management certifications from the PMI - Orange County Chapter and the Project Management Institute in 2010. Osama also holds certifications in Building Information Modeling (BIM) from Autodesk in 2010, and memberships in professional associations such as the IIDA International Interior Design Association and The American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 2009 and 2006 respectively.
