Yuning Chen

Human Practice Committee Member at iGEM

Yuning Chen is a Research Assistant at The University of Edinburgh since January 2023, contributing to projects that enhance understanding in design informatics as part of a Doctor of Philosophy program. In parallel, Yuning Chen serves as a Human Practice Committee Member for iGEM, focusing on the integration of synthetic biology with societal engagement. Previously, Yuning Chen held the position of Innovation Designer at Planet Ix, where responsibilities included exploring digital product visions in the deeptech sector, and worked at the Biomimicry Innovation Lab as a Design and Research Intern. Other roles include Design Tutor at Paopo Studio and Design Assistant at OpenCell, where projects involved innovative agricultural solutions. Yuning Chen's academic background features advanced degrees in Innovation Design Engineering from Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art, along with a Bachelor's in Environmental Science from South China University of Technology.
