Jef Beerten is an accomplished Assistant Professor in the Research Group Electa at KU Leuven since October 2008, where Jef has also held roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Ph.D. Researcher. In addition to this position, Jef serves at EnergyVille as an Assistant Professor and has been actively involved with IEEE since 2008, undertaking various volunteer roles, including Chair of the European Public Policy Committee (EPPC) and its Working Group on Energy, contributing significantly to discussions bridging the gap between engineering and public policy. Jef is a member of the IEEE Power & Energy Society and has served in key capacities within CIGRE, including as a Convener and Secretary of multiple technical working groups. Jef's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Engineering Science and a Master's in Electromechanical Engineering from KU Leuven.
