Duncan Wong is an accomplished professional in the fields of cybersecurity and blockchain technology, currently serving as the Founder of CryptoBLK and Co-chair of the IEEE Hong Kong Blockchain Group. With a strong background in financial technologies, Duncan has been a Founding Member of the Abelian Foundation and holds the position of Director at Neptune Digital Limited. Previously, Duncan led the Financial Technologies initiative at the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) and established its Security and Data Sciences technology division. Duncan’s academic career includes tenure as an Associate Professor at City University of Hong Kong and Assistant Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China, focusing on information security, cryptography, and blockchain technologies. Duncan holds a PhD in Computer Science from Northeastern University, an MPhil in Information Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a BEng with First Class Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Hong Kong.
