Bilal Siddiqi is a seasoned economist with significant experience in research and policy engagement across various global development organizations. Currently serving as Senior Economist and Director at IDinsight since June 2023, Bilal also holds the position of Non Resident Fellow at the Center for Global Development since March 2020. Previously, Bilal was the Director of Research & Growth at The Life You Can Save, leading research initiatives and strategic planning for charity operations from July 2021 to October 2022. Bilal's contributions as Director of Research at the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) from October 2019 to September 2022 involved advancing research agendas in East and West Africa. Bilal's career began as an Economist at The World Bank and includes academic tenure as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University. Bilal holds a Ph.D. and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford.
