Omar Parbhoo is the Managing Director at ideas42 since January 2017, focusing on applying behavioral science to enhance civic engagement and democracy in the United States. Previously, at the U.S. Department of State from November 2010 to January 2017, Omar served as a Senior Advisor, Chief of Staff, and Financial Economist, providing strategic guidance on economic foreign policy and managing key initiatives to strengthen bilateral relationships. Prior experience includes working as an Economist - Presidential Management Fellow at the Social Security Administration, a Research Intern at Washington CORE, an Engineering Coordinator at Bass Electronics, Inc., and an English Teacher with the Iwate Board of Education. Omar holds a Master’s degree in International Economics from UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Louisiana State University.
