Kathy Thien is a dedicated and experienced volunteer and student in the field of biological sciences, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with a focus on Cell and Developmental Biology at California State University, Fullerton. Since June 2022, Kathy has been a medical volunteer at ICNA Relief USA, providing patient care to underserved communities. Kathy has participated in various research activities, including work in Dr. Shahrestani’s Evolution and Genomics Research Lab. Interning at East West Medical Group in 2024 has further enriched Kathy's experience by providing insights into holistic treatments and patient care. Leadership roles within Delta Epsilon Mu, Inc. have included Vice President and Secretary, demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills. Additional volunteer experiences span hospice care and educational outreach for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, enhancing both medical knowledge and commitment to community service.
