Asif Mahmud has a strong work experience in the financial sector. Asif started their career at Emirates Bank International PJSC in 1996 as a Senior Relationship Manager in the Corporate Banking division, where they worked until 2002. Asif then joined Bank Alfalah Limited as a Manager in the Credit-Islamic Banking Division, and stayed with the company until 2004. In 2006, they joined the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) as a Senior Investment Officer, and subsequently took on various roles such as Head - Term Finance, Head - Debt Restructuring, and currently serves as the Head of Non-Banking Investments.

Asif Mahmud completed an MBA in General Management at INSEAD in 2004-2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Banking & Finance from the Institute of Business Administration, which they completed in 1993-1995. Additionally, they hold a certification from The Institute of Directors.
