Habib Abubakar is a Senior Climate Change Specialist at the Islamic Development Bank since September 2021, focusing on strategic planning and implementation in climate finance. Prior to this role, Habib served as a Guest Lecturer at Universitas Gadjah Mada, emphasizing the importance of genuine green investment in sustainable energy development. With extensive experience at the African Development Bank Group as a Climate Finance Readiness & PPF Specialist, Habib supported country-driven initiatives to enhance institutional capacities and climate action frameworks. Previous roles also include Partner Consultant at G-PAC Consulting and GCF Project Advisor at FAO, alongside a position as Capacity and Partnership Development Officer at the African Development Bank. Habib holds graduate degrees from SOAS University of London and KDI School of Public Policy and Management, along with a Graduate Certificate from Carleton University and a diploma from Universitat de Barcelona.
