Manuel Fernandes possesses extensive experience in the fields of energy, natural resources, and audit, currently serving as the Head of Energy and Natural Resources for South America and Co-leader for the Americas at KPMG since October 2017. With a career at KPMG Brazil starting in July 1986, Manuel has held various strategic roles, including Partner in charge of Audit, Chair of the Partners’ Compensation Committee, and Board Member of the Executive Committee. Additional leadership includes directorships at Câmara de Comércio e Indústria Portuguesa do Rio de Janeiro and Amcham Brasil RJ, as well as advisory positions at IBEF-Rio. An accomplished educator, Manuel has taught International Accounting and Accounting at prestigious institutions like FGV and UFRJ. Manuel's educational background includes multiple advanced degrees and certificates from institutions such as Ibmec, Harvard Business School, and New York University, focusing on finance, business management, and sustainability.
