Paul Squires

Paul Squires has a diverse work experience in various industries. Paul began their career at The British Council as a Webmaster, managing the organization's global online presence. Paul then worked at Rolls-Royce as an Internet & Intranet Manager, focusing on the development of the company's online strategy. Later, they joined Opportunity Wales as the Head of Web Services, leading the online strategy and delivery for the successful e-commerce advice service.

In 2005, Paul joined E.ON as the Online and New Media Manager, where they provided functional leadership for the company's internal and external online activity. Paul was responsible for managing their external digital presence, internal and external social media, intranet, digital TV network, and mobile applications. During their time at E.ON, their team won the IMAA Award for Sponsorship in 2008.

In 2009, Paul became the Head of Digital at Summersault, a leading publishing and communications agency in Europe. Paul was responsible for building and leading the agency's digital practice. Paul then joined Furtherfield as the Chair, where they played a key role in co-creating extraordinary art and providing engaging platforms for artists and technologists to connect.

Paul founded Perini, a strategic media and content business, in 2010. The business encompassed publishing, advertising, strategy, and production. Paul led the company as the Founder & Managing Partner for a decade before moving on.

More recently, Paul held the position of Application Consultant at IBM iX, the digital consultancy and agency of IBM Interactive Experience. Their role involved applying their thinking skills to IBM's world-leading digital consultancy.

Currently, Paul serves as the Head of Brand & Communications at both Hoxna, a ground-breaking project connecting virtual and physical real estate, and Hypomo.

Overall, Paul Squires has extensive experience in digital consultancy, brand and communication management, online strategy, and leadership roles across a range of industries.

Paul Squires has a diverse education history. In 1993, they began their undergraduate studies at London Metropolitan University, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Film Studies / Humanities IT in 1996. Paul continued their education at the same institution, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Visual communication theory from 1996 to 1998. In 2002, Paul obtained a Certificate in Welsh from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd.

In recent years, Paul has pursued further certifications and professional development. In 2016, they became an Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner through IBM. Paul also completed various certifications from IBM, including Blue Core Coach in 2017, Agile Team Facilitation (ICP-ATF) and Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC) from ICAgile, and Government Insights and Solutions (Silver) in 2019. Paul expanded their Agile expertise by becoming an Agile Coach and obtaining SAFe 4 Agilist certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2019. Paul has also obtained multiple certifications from IBM, such as IBM Consulting - Client Value, IBM Way, and IBM Consultant Profession Certification - Experienced.

Paul continued to enhance their professional skills with additional certifications. In 2021, they achieved the Chartered Management Consultant (ChMC) certification from the Management Consultancies Association and became a Mental Health Ally through IBM. Paul further expanded their IBM certifications by obtaining Component Business Modelling Essentials and Trustworthy AI and AI Ethics certifications in 2023.
