George Harpster

Level 5 Engineer at HX5

George Harpster is a Level 5 thermal systems engineer at HX5, LLC, providing expertise for NASA in both space and ground support roles since April 2020. Prior to this role, George served as a Mechanical Engineer Level V and Retired Lead Thermal Systems Engineer at NASA Glenn Research Center from May 1977 to April 2020, specializing in thermal systems engineering with a focus on aerospace applications. Significant projects include contributions to the Flow Boiling and Condensation Experiment on the ISS and research on the effects of lunar dust on surface radiative properties. George holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University and an Associate of Arts in Design & Drafting from Cuyahoga Community College.
