Christian A. Schaffner, MBA, serves as the Global Category Director for Freight & Packaging Procurement at Hunter Douglas, Inc. since March 2023. Prior to this, Christian held various leadership roles at WestRock Company from January 2014 to March 2023, including Category Management Lead for Converting Operations Procurement, where oversight of over $800MM in spend was a key responsibility. Other positions at WestRock included Senior Category Manager, Category Manager, Senior Financial Analyst, and Commodity Pricing and Forecasting Analyst, all focusing on sourcing, supplier relationship management, and financial analysis within procurement. Christian initiated a career in finance as an Investment Analyst at LCG Associates, providing in-depth financial analysis for major corporations and institutions. Earlier experience includes sales roles at Penn Mutual and Principal Financial Group, as well as market strategy intern roles at US-Taiwan Business Council. Academic credentials include an MBA in Finance from Mercer University and a BA in Economics and Government & International Studies from the University of South Carolina.
