Xian Chan is a Managing Director at HSBC, serving as Head of Investments & Wealth Solutions UK and Global Head of Digital Assets within Wealth & Personal Banking. Leading a newly established Digital Assets function, Xian is responsible for integrating HSBC's consumer business into the Web 3.0 space. Xian also presides over global research and insights for Private Banking & Wealth Management, influences investment strategies for approximately $400 billion in assets, and has held various senior roles within HSBC, focusing on investment strategy and discretionary portfolio management. Additionally, Xian serves as a Non-Executive Board Member at the University of Kent and is a Leadership Fellow at St George's House. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Finance and Financial Law from SOAS University of London and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Kent. Previous professional experience includes advisory roles and portfolio management at EFG Asset Management and Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, as well as serving as a Legal Counsel/Military Prosecutor for the Ministry of Defence of Singapore.
