Lisa Edge has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Lisa began their career as an Operations Engineering Intern at Instron in 1998. Lisa then worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at Penn State University, where they tested advanced composite materials and performed various mechanical tests.
Afterwards, Lisa joined Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation as a Junior Engineer in 2000. Lisa then returned to Penn State as a Research Assistant, focusing on the development and characterization of epitaxial and amorphous high-K gate dielectrics thin films.
In 2006, Lisa joined IBM as an Advanced Gate Stack Engineer, where they played a crucial role in the research and development of high-K/metal gate thin films. Lisa was responsible for identifying and developing new materials and tooling, as well as integrating new materials and device structures in planar technologies and 3D FinFet structures. Lisa served in this role until 2014.
Since 2015, Lisa has been working at HRL Laboratories, LLC. Lisa'sfirst role was as a Senior Research Staff Scientist, where they managed key technology and epitaxial growth teams to improve device applications, specifically SiGe/Si thin films for silicon quantum computing. Lisa collaborated with university faculty members across the country for quantum device characterization. Currently, Lisa serves as a Senior Program Manager in the IR Program Office, leading a cross-functional team for III-V IR FPA detector development. Lisa'sresponsibilities include project planning, funding, and contract deliverables for IR device research and development.
Lisa Edge attended Penn State University from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Materials Science and Engineering. Following this, they pursued their Master's of Science degree, specializing in Materials Science and Engineering, from 2001 to 2002. Lisa then continued their academic journey at Penn State University, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Science and Engineering from 2002 to 2006.
