Derek Kanas is a Thermal and Performance Technical Program Manager at HP since May 2015, where responsibilities include leading the thermal and performance design strategy for enhanced user experience and collaborating cross-functionally on computer hardware innovation. Previous roles at HP include Senior Mechanical Architect for the Dragonfly Notebook Series, focusing on design optimization and mentoring junior engineers, as well as Mechanical Architect and a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Schlumberger. Derek holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Texas Lutheran University.
