Katie Johnson is a dedicated professional in the fashion and apparel design industry with diverse experience. Currently serving as a Product Development Design Assistant at Howard's, Inc. since July 2023, Katie previously held the position of Assisting Designer and Seamstress at Legacy Bridal, where collaborative efforts focused on creating bespoke bridal accessories and contributing to upcoming collections. Katie gained hands-on experience as an Apparel Design/Fine Art Intern at Makwa Studio, contributing to commissioned designs for a Smithsonian Institution exhibition. An earlier role as a Social Events Planner at the University of Minnesota involved coordinating engaging social events for students. Additionally, as an Apparel Design Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota College of Design, Katie worked on developing digital patterns and virtual wardrobe solutions to promote sustainability. Katie holds a Bachelor of Science in Fashion/Apparel Design from the University of Minnesota, completed in May 2023, and a high school diploma from Rogers Senior High.
