Risa Lavizzo-Mourey is a former president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), where she spearheaded efforts to create healthier, more equitable communities and strengthen the integration of health services and systems. Currently, Lavizzo-Mourey is the RWJF Penn Integrates Knowledge Professor of Population Health and Health Equity at the University of Pennsylvania, where she has appointments in the Perelman School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, and the Wharton School.
Lavizzo-Mourey earned an MBA from the Wharton School at Penn and an MD from Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining RWJF, she directed Penn’s Institute on Aging and was chief of geriatric medicine at the School of Medicine.
Lavizzo-Mourey was elected a trustee of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in 2021.
