Megan Sayyad

Scientific Program Manager at Howard Hughes Medical Institute

Megan Sayyad, PhD, currently serves as a Scientific Program Manager at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where responsibilities include organizing scientific events to foster community and promote collaborations among scientists. As the Creative Director, Producer, and Editor of the Crossmodal Podcast since May 2021, Megan explores neuroscience concepts through a philosophical, artistic, and cultural lens. Previously, Megan was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Virginia from August 2019 to August 2023 and completed a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Virginia Commonwealth University from August 2013 to May 2019. Additional experience includes guest lecturing on Functional and Clinical Neuroanatomy at Virginia Commonwealth University, serving as a graduate teaching assistant, and engaging in educational roles within public school systems and the National Air and Space Museum. Megan holds an MSc in Neuroscience from UCL and a BS in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech.
