Timothy Rooney

Board Member at Hover Energy

Mr. Rooney joined Manhattan Construction Company, one of the largest construction firms in the nation, in 1982 as an Office Engineer, ultimately rising to President and CEO in 1994. Manhattan is widely known for building high-profile, technically difficult mega projects like Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, with the first retractable roof stadium in the NFL; the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, the home of the Dallas Cowboys which is recognized as the premier sports venue in the world; and the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C., After 12 years as CEO, he sold his interest in the firm and is currently engaged in private investments as managing partner of Builder Capital Investments, based in Dallas, TX.

Tim is the past Chapter Chairman of the Lone Star Dallas Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization, has served on the board of Aureus Group, LLC, and sat on the Board of Visitors at Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering and Oklahoma University’s School of Architecture. He previously served on the Dallas Advisory Board for the Salvation Army, and currently serves on the Catholic Foundation Advisory Board.

Tim graduated Duke University in 1980 with a BSE in Civil Engineering, and earned his MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business in 1982. He has been married to Mary Massman Rooney for 32 years with four children, ages 23-30. His hobbies include wine collecting, golf, and travel.
