Nuno Freitas is the CEO of MEDSIMLAB, a Portuguese Medtech scale-up specializing in medical simulation for training and research, a position held since September 2008. Alongside this role, Nuno Freitas serves as a Medical Doctor at Hospital da Luz and the Exército Português since 2014. Nuno Freitas has a diverse medical background, having worked at INEM from 2008 to 2015 and at Centro Hospitalar do Médio Tejo, where leadership as President of the Ethics Committee occurred from 2009 to 2013. Earlier experience includes a medical career at Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra, marked by specialization as an anesthesiologist and coordination at the Coimbra Biomedical Simulation Center. Nuno Freitas has also held significant roles in public service, including President of the Board of the Portuguese Institute on Drug Abuse (IDT) from 2004 to 2005, and City Councillor for Coimbra from 2002 to 2004, as well as a Member of Parliament from 1999 to 2002. Nuno Freitas holds multiple degrees from Universidade de Coimbra and Universidade do Porto, with a focus on medicine, medical law, and anesthesiology.
