Samuel is the CEO of LK Foods and Beverages Limited. He is a professional food technologist, value chain expert, food safety, quality, and programme management specialist. He has extensive expertise in directing multi-component trade capacity building programmes designed to improve the quality and competitiveness of the industrial food sector and access to markets for Uganda’s food.
His expertise is backed by over 26 years’ experience in policy, strategic planning and implementation, resource mobilization and management of both financial and human resources including accounting, procurement, management of logistics (inventory and assets), progress and annual reporting, liaising and net working with appropriate intergovernmental organizations international partners and financing agencies.
In the past, Samuel worked with Kyagalanyi Volcafe Limited, the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), UNIDO, and FAO, serving as a member of the UNBS Management Team from May 2003 to June 2012.
Samuel has completed several consultancy projects for Uganda’s produce export companies, food Industries, hotels, African Development Foundation (ADF), World Health Organisation (WHO), National Organic Agriculture Movement of Uganda (NOGAMU), (Agricultural Sector Program Support) ASPS-DANIDA, USAID and Private Sector Foundation-Uganda (PSFU).
Samuel helped establish AgriLiving East Africa Limited to provide advisory services on standards, compliance to market requirements and commercial agricultural production.
He is a member of the National Organic Agriculture Movement of Uganda (NOGAMU), a board member/treasurer for Uganda Organic Certification Limited (UgoCert), the founding member and Chairman of the Horticulture Organisation for Promotion and Empowerment (HOPE) and the Vice Chairperson of the Advisory Committee to HortiFresh.
