Brian Kern is an experienced IT professional with a robust background in enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and solution delivery, currently serving as Assistant Vice President at Horace Mann since January 2015. During this tenure, Brian has held various roles including leadership of IT Infrastructure and Operations, overseeing data center operations and application integration for numerous business divisions. Prior to that, Brian spent over two decades at American General Life Companies, contributing as Chief Architect to the Enterprise Architecture program and managing a substantial database organization. Brian's career began in software development and project management, leading initiatives such as the New Business Productivity Suite. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois Springfield and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Management from Eastern Illinois University.
